Backyard Cookout

The other night we decided that we wanted to have a cookout. However, there were two things working against us:
1. The rain. It was sprinkling on and off.
2. The time. Rob doesn't get done with work until about 6:00 and the parks all close at dark (6:45ish).
We decided to have a backyard cookout. I found out later that we are not technically allowed to light fires in the backyard--the good news is that Valparaiso residents can light fires and the city line is in our backyard--we didn't get bothered by anyone and most likely never will in the future.
Anyway, Rob built an awesome fire and we roasted hot dogs and made s'mores. We definitely plan on repeating this activity soon!

Rob showing off his fire making skills!

MMM...fire roasted hot dogs!

The kids loved s'mores!

Look at that cute s'more face!

That is some lush grass. Now I know what you mean about mowing the lawn being dangerous. It's also nice to see that your camping chairs are being used for outdoor camping stuff and not for living room furniture like in Maryland! We miss you guys.

Good times. I agree with Jenni about the camping chairs. Although Maryland will make a great story to share with your grandkids someday.
