We miss daddy when he goes out of town!! But we have decided that we better get used to it since it will happen often. One thing I have decided that keeps me from going crazy and the kids from getting bored of mom is to find fun things to do. This last week was a good one since we had St. Patrick's Day to take up some of our time. Here are a few things we did this last week without daddy (they would have been a lot more fun with daddy! Everything is more fun with daddy!):
Green waffles on St. Patrick's Day
When I told Dylan we were having green waffles he told me he would eat the waffle, but not the green part. I don't think he quite understood what I was doing.
I made Jenni's waffle recipe from the Eat Your Peas blog. You make the waffles with yeast and let the batter sit for 45 minutes before you bake them. The bowl was about to overflow by the time they were ready!
Dylan came up with the idea and I helped him with all the big blankets.

Dylan and Maggie in the cave.

Auntie Heather sent Dylan and Maggie money for St. Patrick's Day. They used the money to buy flashlights to use in their cave. Maggie got a princess flashlight and Dylan got a Cars flashlight. We have already gone through a lot of batteries, but it made the cave experience so much more fun!
Here they are in their cave with their new flashlights:
We had fun with the laundry basket (If only they could do the laundry--now that sounds like a fun idea!)
Bubble bath fun!

One night I went out to the car to make sure it was locked and I found Maggie looking out her window. She was supposed to be in bed and asleep!
I also found a frog on the side of our house! The night I found this Dylan and Maggie were asleep so I couldn't show them. We may have to go frog hunting!

You are a fun mom, Dana! I just wish we all lived closer so that we could help with the boredom and craziness.
I say put those kids to work on the laundry! I've found that 10 cents a washcloth to fold and put away is a mighty motivator!
Maggie out of bed and in the window is so funny...wow, she's just like some other kids I know!
btw...I love Princess Maggie on your slide show.
It is so fun to see the kids and all the fun things that their mom comes up with to do. Where do you get the energy. I guess that I'm just getting old. What a GREAT mom you are Dana.
Love your cute little family
