Just a Few Things

I feel like I haven't been able to keep up with posting the last couple of days so I am combining 3 into 1!
Post #1: Rob FINALLY got his orders! We are going to:
FORT STEWART, GEORGIA
Here is a map of where Fort Stewart is located:
(This map is kind of vague, but it is north of Hinesville and west of Savannah)

Rob has been assigned to go with one of his good buddies and he is really excited. He got to talk to his new Captain yesterday and got word that they will be deploying to Iraq in December 2009. They will be one of the last EOD groups in Iraq before the pull out which, according to Rob, means that they will have plenty of work to do. His report date is March 16 so we will be making another move in March. Thankfully it is only about an 8 hour drive from here--we have done plenty of cross country trips in the last year!
Dylan decided a few days ago that he wanted to make a rocket. I blew him off in the afternoon hoping that he would forget about it. That night he told me that he needed to collect things from around the house so we could make his rocket. I finally caved in and we got a rocket made. We didn't get any pictures of the rocket in progress, but here are a couple of the final product:

Notice in the picture below the bottle of Aloe Vera and the red burn mark on his arm!
We used my hot glue gun to get everything to stick well and Dylan kept reaching across the table--he burned his arm and the back of his thumb. However, he was a tough kid and only shed a couple of tears.

Post #3:
Two days ago we had an unusually warm day outside. When I say unusually warm I mean almost 80 degrees. It rained all day (which I hear almost never happens here) and I think the clouds held in all the warm air. At 7:00 PM I took this picture of our thermostat! It was 81 degrees in the house and we were very tempted to turn on our air conditioner.

However, we decided just to open the windows and turn on the ceiling fans.
I am hoping for a warm Christmas with no rain! Wouldn't it be so much fun to go to the beach on Christmas day?

Good luck with the cookie exchange. Don't blame me if they don't turn out! Post some pictures when you get a chance. I told Leigh that that is the kind of party I don't want to be invited to.
