It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

It is definitely beginning to look like Christmas around our house! Here are 4 fun things from the past few days that remind me that Christmas is just around the corner:
Number 1: Santa Claus!!

Santa came to visit all the kids at our Ward Christmas Party. The kids are in their PJ's because it was a "Polar Express" party. Dylan sat on Santa's lap 4 times because he kept remember things that he wanted!
Maggie cut in line because she was so excited to see Santa!

Number 2: Advent Calendars!

Dylan and Maggie love opening the little windows to see what picture is on the piece of chocolate!
However, they are a bit spoiled because they each have their own Advent Calendar. Growing up we had to share one between 6 kids!

Number 3: Niceville Christmas Parade!

I forgot to take my camera to the parade :( but here is a picture of their haul!
They ended up with 12 Mardi Gras necklaces and a big bag of candy!
FYI: Our Ward float took 1st place in the church division!

Number 4: Letters to Santa

I gave Dylan the choice of handwriting his letter or typing it on the computer--he chose to type it. Here are Dylan and Maggie's letters to Santa:

Dylan even chose his own font!
Maggie had a bit of help with her letter since she just kept saying Santa over and over!!

Maggie was not in the mood to pose for the camera!!
I hope the Christmas season is beginning to shine at your house!
It is truly the most wonderful time of the year!

I am laughing about sharing the advent calendar. 24 days divided by6 kids is only 4 waxy, chocolate candies for the whole month. Somehow it was always timed so I could get the 18th, my special day. My kids each have their own too; they don't know how good they have it!

I forgot about the fake chocolate advent calanders. Those things are only about a dollar now, so back in the day they were probably only about 50 cents, but what a great lesson on sharing, Thanks Mom and Dad. Beth says she thinks your tree in the most beautiful tree she has ever seen!

Great pictures! I'd love to hear more about the Polar Express party - we are the ward activities chairpeople and always looking for ideas!

Advent calendars are the bomb. I've gotten them since I can remember. I just remember the chocolate being better back then...
