Anyway, The Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival is planned for and anticipated all year. It is the biggest event in Niceville and people come from all over to go the the festival. I decided that it is a big craft fair with a lot of fried food and true Southern Country Music late into the night (we heard it at our house, 4 miles away, until almost midnight!) The fried food is crazy!!! Last night we tried fried alligator (this was against my better judgement) and fried Twinkies (yummy). If we wanted to we could have also tried: fried okra, fried mullet, fried shrimp, fried oreos, fried chicken, fried onions, etc. Rob favorite part was finding out that you could buy a rib-eye steak from a carnival trailer (we DID NOT try this!) So, now we can say that we have been to the Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival in Niceville, Florida! How many of you can brag about that?!?
We only got one picture because it rained the entire time we were there. Here we are eating cotton candy under the shelter of a tree!

Fried oreos??? Now that would be an interesting concoction. Glad you had a good time, despite the rain.
Fried oreos....yum. Welcome to the South! ;)
Gotta love southern fried everything! Looks like fun. Thanks for sharing!
Do they fry everything down there?! I thought Minnesota was bad with fried Spam on a stick..nothin' on the mullet fest!
